WARMTH & NOURISHMENT

On this Christmas Day, we along with the Rotaract Club of Malda Central, RID 3240 visited Shanti Kunja Welfare Educational Trust, bringing more than just gifts. In the quiet chill of winter, we shared the warmth of woolen clothes and a nourishing lunch with the inmates. ​Seeing their eyes light up with joy reminded us that the true spirit of Christmas lies in compassion. As we wrapped them in warmth, their smiles wrapped our hearts in grace. It was a day of shared humanity, proving that a small act of kindness can be the brightest light in someone’s world.

SHAKTI SANKALP SAFAR

Rotary Club of Malda Central had the honour of felicitating Rtn. Pappu Ram Choudhary from Rotary Club of Nagaur, Rajasthan (RID 3053), who is currently undertaking Mission Everest 2026 – Shakti Sankalp Safar, a remarkable solo journey promoting environmental awareness, sustainability, and climate action. During his visit, club members exchanged ideas and learned about his inspiring mission — a 60,000 km solo cycling expedition across India, with over 37,000 km completed, 28,000+ trees planted, and preparations underway to summit Mount Everest in 2026 carrying the Indian Tricolor and Rotary Flag. His motto, “Prakriti Hai, To Pragati Hai,” truly reflects the essence of his journey and inspired everyone present.

It was a bright morning on World Polio Day at Buraburitala Health Centre. The courtyard buzzed with cheerful voices as the Rotary Club of Malda Central gathered to celebrate a cause close to every Rotarian’s heart — the dream of a polio-free world. Colorful banners of “End Polio Now” fluttered in the breeze. Mothers waited patiently with their little ones, and Rotarians moved around with warm smiles, guiding families and spreading awareness. As each child received their two drops of the life-saving polio vaccine, they were handed a soft End Polio Now–branded teddy bear — a small gift carrying a big message of love and care. The children’s faces lit up with joy as they hugged their new teddies, some laughing, others holding them tightly as if they’d just found a new friend.

As the air filled with the spirit of Durga Puja, a wave of joy swept across the hearts of the little ones at Damdama Primary School (Govt.), Aiho, Malda. The Rotary Club of Malda Central along with Rotaracts brought smiles to innocent faces through Sharod Sangati by distributing new Puja garments among the 126 underprivileged Backward Class students. For many of them, it was their very first set of new clothes for the festival—a simple gift that lit up their eyes with endless excitement. Their laughter, their shy yet glowing smiles, and the sparkle of happiness turned the moment into a festival of its own. This act of love reminded us that true celebration lies not in grandeur, but in sharing joy and creating memories that touch hearts forever.

To encourage regular hand washing and promote cleanliness, a new wash basin has been installed by our club at Mahananda Primary School, Malda. This initiative aims to develop healthy habits among children, prevent the spread of diseases, and create a cleaner and safer learning environment. By making hand washing more accessible, we take a step forward in ensuring better hygiene and overall well-being for our students. DRAMA WORKSHOP

The opening ceremony of the Drama Workshop, organised by the Rotary Club of Malda Central in association with Malda Anyorongo, was held successfully with the enthusiastic participation of 18 children. The event was graced by the presence of President Mr. Bipul Dutta, along with Past President Rtn. Adhir Gupta and other esteemed Rotarians. Leading the event were the current President of the Malda Anyorong Mr. Nurul Islam, Secretary Rtn. Somnath Chowdhury, and Director Rtn. Soumen Bhowmik. Members of Malda Anyorongo also took part in the programme, reflecting the spirit of community collaboration and cultural promotion. The workshop aims to nurture the dramatic talents of young participants and provide them with a creative platform for expression.

CALM QUEST - A STRESS MANAGEMENT SEMINAR

The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another. Stress management is essential for high school students as they face academic pressure, social expectations, and future uncertainties. To cope effectively, students should adopt healthy habits such as maintaining a balanced study schedule, getting regular sleep, and engaging in physical activities. Its important to talk openly with parents, teachers, or counselors when feeling overwhelmed. By learning how to manage stress early, students can improve their focus, emotional well-being, and overall performance in school and life. Today RC Malda Central organise a Seminar on Stress Management for the Students of Local High Schools at Rotary Sadan, where more than 100 participants were attended and it was a great interaction session with the Guest Speaker.
